Leading toward differentiation. A contribution on the subject of group phases

The author shows how the TCI axioms can be used as a source of guidance when leading groups through their various phases of development. Basing herself on basic human needs, such as the need for appreciation and the need to belong, she develops a phase model, in which the differentiation phase – the capacity to strike a balance between autonomy and interdependence – is recognized as the target phase from the outset and shows how this influences the process of development in a group. Furthermore, she explains how, as a leader, one can support the recognition and acceptance of differences within a group in every phase.
